FAQ
When should I choose 18:1 versus 26:1 thrust ratio?
The 18:1 ratio is suitable for medium to high-viscosity materials like thick silicone, acrylic, and general construction sealants. The 26:1 ratio is needed for very high-viscosity materials such as polyurethane construction adhesive, roofing cement, butyl tape sealant, and cold-applied mastics.
What is a sausage pack and how does it differ from a cartridge?
Sausage packs are bulk foil-wrapped sealant logs without a rigid plastic cartridge. They are loaded directly into the barrel and require a special nozzle attachment. They offer lower material cost for high-volume applications and produce less waste.
Can the gun be used one-handed for overhead work?
The LD-154 is designed primarily for two-handed heavy-duty use. For overhead work, we recommend our lighter aluminum alloy LD-153 model which can be operated one-handed more easily.
What maintenance is needed for heavy-duty use?
After each use, clean the barrel interior and plunger rod with appropriate solvent. Apply light machine oil to the plunger rod and trigger pivot points monthly. Inspect the barrel for dents or deformation that could cause uneven dispensing.
